Separate three different properties
Residential or datacenter describes the exit network; dedicated describes an exit assigned to one customer; static or dynamic describes whether its address changes. These terms are not interchangeable, and a US IP is not automatically residential.
| Term | What it describes | What it does not guarantee |
|---|---|---|
| Residential / broadband IP | An exit on a residential broadband network | Dedicated use, low latency or account safety |
| Datacenter IP | An exit on a datacenter or hosting network | Fixed bandwidth or universal access |
| Dedicated IP | An exit assigned to one customer | Residential origin or an exclusive physical server |
| Static IP | An exit address that stays fixed | Residential origin or dedicated use |
What does NailongVPN currently provide?
Current plans provide Los Angeles datacenter VPN connections with US static IPs, with one IP per user and separate accounts, subscriptions and data allowances. They are not US residential or household broadband nodes. If residential origin is essential, these plans do not meet that requirement.
Importing a subscription over home Wi-Fi does not turn its datacenter exit into a residential IP. Router compatibility depends on its client and protocol support. Current public guides cover five personal-device categories, without a universal router setup guide.
How can you check an IP's origin?
Cross-check IP geolocation, ASN ownership, operator information and the supplier's description. IPinfo's ASN type describes the organization category; an isp or hosting value alone cannot prove that a particular connection comes from a household broadband line.
Databases can disagree or update at different times. A country lookup, a zero third-party risk score or an ISP label cannot guarantee an unrestricted account, or replace a supplier's explanation of allocation and service scope.
- Ask about the exit source and allocation model before comparing price and data.
- Use credential-free exit information for checks; do not submit a full subscription to lookup tools.
- If you need a fixed address, verify its stability, change conditions and allocation instead of relying on marketing labels.
What does an IP lookup actually prove?
Check the current browser exit, then interpret each field separately. IP geolocation is a database estimate. The country field in IPinfo's ASN API is the ASN's registration country. A US-registered organization alone does not establish the physical location of this connection's exit.
| What you see | What it tells you | What still needs checking |
|---|---|---|
| IP geolocation says United States | That database's estimate of the address location | A destination may use another database; this does not establish residential origin |
| ASN type is isp | The database classifies the organization as an ISP | The supplier still needs to explain whether the connection is household broadband |
| The IP stays the same across a few reconnects | The address remained unchanged during those observations | This does not establish long-term stability or exclusivity; check replacement and renewal terms |
| A plan states dedicated IP | A provider commitment about allocation | Actual allocation and replacement rules; a public IP lookup cannot establish that only one customer uses it |
Choose for the need and verify the result
A US datacenter node is a connectivity option, but whether it meets another service's requirements depends on that service's supported regions, account eligibility and terms. Residential IPs likewise do not guarantee model features, successful payments, account unblocking or access rights.
For a separate subscription, a US exit and usage records, read the US VPN guide and plans. For AI website or API errors, use the connectivity guide to identify the layer involved.
